About the Nations Learning Together Project

Nations Learning Together: An Art and Adult Literacy Project is a student-driven website founded by adult literacy students in the Lifeline to Literacy program in the Centre for Excellence in Foundational Learning department (CEFL) of Bow Valley College.  The vision for this project is that it can empower adult literacy and upgrading students by giving them a public voice through their shared projects and ideas in an online community.

Students in different programs in CEFL can showcase their creativity and learning in this site.  Included in the different program pages you will find poetry, stories, drawing, paintings, photography, videos, essay, math and audio pieces, all created by students.  We hope this site will be used in literacy and upgrading programs as part of your learning.

This site is designed to invite students to learn more about using technology and the internet.  We also want you to use this blog as a tool for communicating and sharing ideas about how creativity helps you to learn.  Please tell us what you think about this site and the work featured.  Write your comments in at the bottom of every page of the site.

The program was launched in the spring of 2013 by the students of the Lifeline to Literacy program who founded the name of the site "nationslearningtogether.blogspot.ca".  They also decided how the site would be designed .  Other programs in the CEFL department became interested in the project so over time more students from other programs in CEFL will add their creative work.

The site is organized into the different programs in the Centre (CEFL), please click on any of the tabs at the top of this page to see student work from other programs.

As more programs in the Bow Valley College CEFL department come aboard, the project will truly be an accurate representation of a diversity of cultures and nations learning together as an online community.

The development of the Nations Learning Together blog was supported by the Lifeline to Literacy instructors, Debra King and Audrey Gardner, and web blog developer, Lisa Fajardo. The project is hosted by the Adult Literacy Research Institute in the Centre for Excellence in Foundational Learning.
